April "Save the Date" Gardening Events



Spring is a  busy gardening time. But, did you know, there are many opportunities to learn more about gardening and get great new ideas? 




Get out your calendar and Save these Dates for  RCEMG (Reno County Extension Master Gardener's) upcoming community educational events.

















April Educational Events
  • Monday, April 10th, 12:15pm, at the Extension Office, South Hutch, Tina Saylor will do a presentation entitled "Ice Storm Damage" for the Reno County Extension Master Gardener's monthly General Meeting.  
  • Tuesday, April 11th, 6-9pm, Dillon Nature Center (DNC) will host a speaker presentation entitled "Not Your Mama's Terrarium." Call DNC to sign up. 
  • Tuesday, April 18th, 7pm, Horticulture Club meets at Dillon Nature Center. Pam Paulsen, Reno County Horticulture Agent, will speak on "Growing Dahlias".
  • Thursday, April 20th, 6:30-8:30pm, Reno County Master Gardener's will host their 2nd 2017 Community Education event at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E 30th. Kay Neff of Neff Family Farms will speak on "Growing and Using Herbs."
  • Saturday, April 22nd, 9-4pm, Meet local Master Gardeners at the Women's Fair, KS State Fair Grounds. Attend our presentations, check out how to become a Master Gardener, catch up on what we are doing and our summer educational programs. 
  • 2nd Saturday, June 10th, 9-3pm, Don't forget the RCEMG Garden Tour. Five homeowners open their private gardens to tour guests, two horticultural specialists will share their research based knowledge. Also, you're invited to bring your toughest gardening challenges to the Gardening Gurus located at the expert's booth, HCC Demo Gardens, south of HCC parking lot.
